When I Arrived, I Met With Ron, Who Mentioned That His AC Unit Wasn’t Cooling. I Set The Thermostat To Cooling Mode And Inspected The Furnace. Then, I Located The Condenser Unit Outside And Checked The Pressures. The Readings Indicated That There Was A Leak In The System. I Explained The Different Options For Fixing The Problem To Ron. He Was Understandably Upset About The Cost, Especially Since The Unit Was Only 2 1/2 Years Old And He Had Already Invested Significantly In It. After Discussing The Situation With Management, We Decided To Waive The Charge For This Service Call. I Added Dye Into The System To Help Identify The Leak And Will Return In A Few Weeks To Recheck It. During This Visit, I Also Recharged The Unit With 2 1/2 Lbs Of R410a And Cleaned The Condenser Coil. The Supply Temperature Is Now 57 Degrees And Continuing To Drop.

Upon Inspection And Pressure Check, I Found The Unit With Only 19 Psi On The Suction Side, Indicating A Significant Leak In The System. Given That The System Is 8 Years Old And Utilizes R22 Refrigerant With 11 Pounds, Keith Has Expressed Interest In Speaking With A Sales Representative Regarding A Potential Combo Replacement.
