On Arrival, I Met With Greg, Who Reported That The Condenser Fan Motor Was Making A Loud Humming Noise. I Asked Greg To Set The Thermostat To Cooling And Show Me Where The Furnace Was Located. I Inspected The Blower And Filter, Then Located The Condenser And Turned Off The Disconnect. Upon Inspection, I Found That The Capacitor Had Burst And The Contactor Was Making A Loud Noise.
Before Proceeding With Further Investigation, I Noticed That The Unit Is 24 Years Old And Uses R22 Refrigerant. I Discussed With Greg That, Given The Age Of The Unit And The Use Of R22, It Would Be More Cost-effective To Replace The Entire Unit Rather Than Invest In Repairs. We Scheduled An Appointment With Miguel To Assist Greg With The Replacement Process.
